How to Uninstall

Desktop Scout can be uninstalled using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Alternatively, you may use the uninstaller located in the programs installation folder (uninst000.exe).

If the Desktop Scout Agent service is running in the background you will not be able to uninstall Desktop Scout. This behavior is by design so that another user cannot uninstall the software and bypass the security measures.

To stop the Desktop Scout Agent service:

  1. Open the Desktop Scout Agent program (Start --> Programs --> Desktop Scout 4 --> Desktop Scout Agent). Alternatively, you can open the svcagnt.exe program directly from the programs installation folder.
  2. Type in your security password and press OK.
  3. Click Stop.
  4. Close the Agent program.

You will now be able to continue with the uninstallation.
